  1. SB 1207 requires the Oklahoma State Department of Education to create and share a high-school (grades 9–12) curriculum on domestic violence and human trafficking awareness/prevention before the 2027–2028 school year.

The curriculum must cover recognizing and seeking help, warning signs of dating violence and abusive behavior, and promoting healthy relationships, and it has to be medically accurate and age-appropriate.

Districts can teach it as a stand-alone unit or fold it into existing classes; the Department has to post it online with resources, and any district that teaches it must offer parents an opt-out for their student.

The bill lists a July 1, 2026 effective date but also declares an emergency, which would make it take effect immediately once passed and signed.
